Great Noise Ensemble Opens 10th Season

September 20, 2014
Great Noise Ensemble kicks off our tenth season with a program featuring Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians. As K. Robert Schwarz wrote in his liner notes for the recording by Reich's ensemble, this piece is "one of a handful of late-twentieth-century works that can rightly claim to have altered the course of Western music."

BONUS FREE PERFORMANCE: Come to the Atlas early and participate in a collaborative performance with musicians from GNE in the atrium of the Atlas, performing Terry Riley's In C. Bring your own instruments or noisemakers and play alongside GNE members in an hour-long jam session starting at 5:00pm.

This September 20th performance coincides with the vibrant H Street Festival, which features live music, food, crafts, art, artisans, and more all day in the H Street Arts District.
